Since the zoo, we have been to a few places.
We went to Kemah yesterday, which was a small amusement park. My 14 year old cousin, (R), wasn't very eager seeing as he's seen and rode better so he doesn't care. But i had tons of fun, then I ended upmeating funnel cake with apples on top. It tasted great.
every ride affected my body differently, one spun a full circle, upside down and all, it was amazing. My legs were quiverring afterwards, then we rode the thing that lifts you up then drops you down suddenly, and i was able to pull my whole arm and shoulder out of it, which was awful. But the drop was so sudden that I felt my thorax and abdomen compress. We headed to the roller coaster next. It was belt on wood, so it looked shady and unsafe and it had no loop, so we figured it will be lame, but the ride was so bumpy and fast that I felt my brain ratteling in my skull. It was really fun, but ever since I've had a bit of a headache. We rode on a ship after convincing (R) to ride, both cousins thought it was lame, but I thought it was fun just being on the ride. Man, they were such buzz kills though, i really hate people who are either bored on fun games, or too scared to get on them. That's why I plan to take future fiance to an amusement park, if he acts macho or like a chicken, I'm gonna be disappointed in his personality.
We went to Fadi's afterwards, which is an arabic resturaunt that has amazing food. All food I tasted tasted just like the authentic arabic home cooked meals I eat. It was great.
at night, we went to a standup comedy show for Ali Siddiq at Improv. He wasn't the funniest, but it was still a great experience.
Peace,
M.D.

Houstan, Texas
I really don't wanna write so I'll make this brief.
I'm visiting my aunt in Houstan and so my cousins Ro, Mo, and N. Only N is a girl and my aunt H.
Theyre all more or less friendly, the boys are a little self centered cause theyre only childs.
My trip was pretty bad, but it couldve been worse. I think what stressed me out the most was that people kept calling and messaging me.
Yesterday we went to NASA museum which the only fun part was playing the plane shooter stimulus which is so fun. We spun upside down and such and I was th0e pilot while N was the shooter.
Today we went to Houstan's zoo where we fed the girraffes, pet goats, cat, and looked at many animals peeing. We saw chimps pooping then eating their own poop. Most disgusting moment of the day. We ate dippy dots ice cream, and ate dinner at home. It was salmon with sweet potatoes and salad, tasted great.
best part was that when we played uno, I won twice, then when we played tarneeb, me and N won the sets and when we plays hand rami, I won from the first round, and we even okayed old maid and I won the first time. I drove Ro insane. We had the most fun playing tarneeb because Ro and I suck at the game, we made our partners absolutely insane.
inshalkah tomorrow will be fun too.
peace,
M.D.

Weeks went by
I'm watching an anime called Steins Gate now. I watched the first episode a few hours before my first final exam I think.
I'm still taking driving lessons. I have one tomorrow, and I think I'm improving slowly.
I miss my Japanese friend, I won't be seeing her ever again unless I go to Hokkaido, or she comes back here. She has given me a card right after I gave her one too. It was very sweet, as is she.
Revi visited today, we ate at my place and it turned out she was wearing similar snowmen earrings as the one I got for her. It's a bit awkward, but I suppose it was alright. She said she loved them, none the less, and decided to put them on. She told me North America didn't have the 99 comic she wanted to get me, it's a comic that includes many Muslims in it. She also won't tell me what she got me though, so I will find out tomorrow when she visits again.
I'm going to Houston on the 19th and I'm a little upset none of my online friends live near by..then again, it's probably for the best.
I created another blog that falls under my original name. I decided to make it exclusively for anime and manga related posts. So, I basically copy pasted all of the posts I had on summaries and ratings of said animes and mangas I've read and watched and put them there.
moving disaster moments:
I cut myself twice today. First time was against the edge of the trash can's pedal while I was scrubbing the floor. Second time was when I was chopping onions. It feels so strange when the metal pierces through your muscle. you sorta feel the top layer of skin breaking beneath the blade's pressure. They both bled for just a bit, both shallow cuts. Interestingly enough, this was my first time cutting myself with a knife. Though I've always seen it coming, so was tripping while running. Now all that's left is falling down the stairs and getting hit by a car!
Peace,

All Nighter
I pulled an all nighter today to work on my Psych paper. After I was done around 3 am, I notice that I included my cover page in my minimum requirement of ten pages! So, I had to write another page! I ended up sleeping at 6:00 am. Then I had to wake up at noon to volunteer at 1:00 pm.
Today's volunteer was really nice though, I escorted one patient back to her room and while I was there, she showed me some of her AWESOME teddy bears! She's one of the only patients I actually like, just because of the personality of her room and her smiling face. I often don't warm up to people quickly. We danced a little bit to her musical teddy bears, then when I told her I had to go back to the care group, she told me I'm so pretty, and so cute, and that my parents must be so proud of me. She then gave me a hug, repeated her previous statements then gave me another hug before telling me to say "hi" to my mother for her. She's ADORABLE, AUGH! I can't believe that woman is in her 90s! Like ....HOW?! I would love to be her by 90, I don't mind! She still got some hair, some teeth, both eyes, and she still uses a walker! Plus, her room is to die for!
I then noticed that my psych professor has already graded our tests AND papers. I submitted mine not 12 hours before he marked it, and our exam was yesterday, plus there's like 100 students. Oh, I know for SURE, he did not read my paper!
Ten pages of love! then I got 14/15 for it! AUGH! Oh well, at least I got an A- for that class and an A+ for the fish course. I hope I can do great in my next exams. I need to study better than this though. God I hope next semester is good.
On other news, someone unexpected gave me a call. Was really interesting as he has never called me outside of a group call before. I also tend to mumble a lot on my mic, so it's a little awkward with our mumbling, little topics to talk 'bout, and my silent demeanor. His crunching and slurping were what felt like broke the ice. His mic is hilarious.
DON'T do weed guys! seriously dangerous!
Peace,
M.D.

My Sri Lanki friend told me that I'm a mixture of Zuko and Sokka.
I guess between my introverted behavior to study alone and non-talkative angst persona and between my sarcastic comments, witty jabs and being a "hazard to myself", I do see myself as a bit of both.
It's funny that those are my favorite characters from Avatar too!
Always amuses me what people think of me.

Amazon Delivery
Walking home, I see a box in front of my apartment door. I could not believe that the package I ordered was just left unattended in front of my door!!! How RUDE!
I ordered the 2015 MCAT prep books about a week ago, they costed like 157$ so it was a great deal, and it came so quickly too.

It makes me wanna kick myself in the face for waiting for 2015 version when I could've taken the 2014 but chickened out. I had 4 months to study for it, but kept procrastinating it. I also had so much to study from that even when I did study, I got lost in all the materials and books.
These books are mine, and they're cute and organized. They're in colour, and they're new, and they look neat so that got me pumped to flip through the pages.
I don't feel that scared anymore. I can do it, can't I? I mean...I'm trying my best to do everything else.
God it would be so beautiful if I can muster the strength to get me a job that pays so well that I don't have to think about financial problems ever again.
I also really wanna foster a few children. Pull them out of whatever conditions they may be in. Heck, I don't even have to care about how much my husband would make, he can be a stay at home man for all I care. As long as he's a good supportive muslim, who is intelligent, kind, understands me, gives me my space, and is secure about himself and all that he is.
Would be perfect.

Driving with a Stranger
My sister found a guy on kijiji that only charges 20$ an hour or 35$ for two hours to help us practice our driving.
Aside from the 10 hour practice drive with the instructor we need to practice what we learned, and how can we do that without a car? The extra lessons cost 65$ an hour at rightlane, by the way, they suck! Don't bother with them! The instructors are friendly, but GOD the office lady named "lynne" is a bitch, so the service is awful.
Back to the subject!
The guy from kijiji was a bit odd, he texted us, asked for our nationalities, and was rough around the edges and rather blunt. In my experience, this is pretty typical Chinese behavior. I know it's generalized and stereotypical, but this is only my opinion. They're pretty straight forward people.
I didn't know what he looked like, as I was dealing with a complete stranger. I told him I wear a headscarf and glasses. He told me he's Chinese and wears glasses too. We decided on a meeting spot at my university, which he also goes to!
He texted me that he will be 5 minutes late, so while I was waiting and looking around I notice this Asian man barge in through the doors in an opened black trench coat, heaving. His hair was wet from the rain and his glasses were fogged up. I won't lie, he did look a bit frightening and I prayed it wouldn't be him, but we made eye contact, then he looked away, walked off and left through the same doors.
I kinda had a feeling it was him, and I texted him that I was there, and he replied that he was outside, to my dismay. I approached him and he seemed friendly when we talked, thank GOD! We walked to his car, and he asked if I wanted to start driving right now. I told him that I didn't feel comfortable doing so, I only took two courses/ hours of driving and that he should first evaluate me in a place that had less people and cars.
Seriously though, remind me again how I'm alive? This is the second time I get in a car with a complete stranger, my Sri Lanki friend is going to FLIP OUT at me, I can't wait to tell her.
So, he took me to Point Pleasant's parking. He's very chatty, very open, pretty friendly, yet a little over friendly seeing that it was my first time meeting him. He got me to turn in the park, then immediately leave it. Then I started driving on the road, then before I knew it I was surrounded by cars, practicing my turns at 4 way cross sections and traffic lights?!
An hour later, I was driving in the pouring rain at night. Even he pointed out that he never taught someone to drive in the dark before, and that he only taught one guy to drive in the rain, but never in the rain at night too!
It made me feel happy, like I accomplished something and earned his acknowledgment of my epic beginners driving....despite him occasionally screaming at me to "STOP STOP STOP", telling me to slow down, or that I'm a bit too close to this and that.
He's pretty leaned back, he even got me to drive myself back home. I also liked that he pointed out the names of the streets I was in, and asked me every once in a while "Do you know where you are?" At which I almost always replied with a "nope!" and sheepish grin. I seriously space out when I'm driving or when I'm outside my comfort zone. I completely dissociate in some sense that my body is doing its thing without my brain. It can be rather dangerous. I notice that I do this when I'm doing a presentation, or when I'm grading for karate, or when I'm under a spotlight, or apparently driving!
Anyways, the deal was 35, and even though I told him other people will charge 40 or 60, he told me since it's my first time, he will only ask for 30$
That's 15 and hour, I kinda feel bad. I asked a few times if he's sure, but he held his ground.
Maybe it's because he knows my sister and I will both be taking his lessons from now on, that he feels like he guaranteed himself at least 200$ just from us if not more.
I definitely recommend him. He's cheap, he's pretty good, he's not the best, but he would tell me where to stop, what I'm doing wrong and explain to me why I should and shouldn't be doing something.
You can find him in kijiji, I don't want to give out too much detail so I won't invade his privacy, however, if you're looking for extra practice hours and don't have a car, or a friend with a car then tell me and I will give you his contact information.
Peace,
M.D.

Angst thought
I hate how when I used to get sick, or get palpitations, or the dentist, it was usually overlooked, treated at home, postponed or dropped. However, when I'm no longer living with my parents, they tell me to keep following up with the cardiologist, go to the doctor when I'm sick, make appointments, checkups.
They've never been part of my life why should they start now? I know my body better than you do and I don't have time for this.
